ABOUT CORINNE
Corinne Smith founded and launched Imagine in 2000. She recently retired after a 35-year in finance in New York City, having worked concurrently with Imagine and her investment career. She feels that life has come "full circle" offering the opportunity for utilization of her extensive experience in both the teaching and investment fields in this Imagine endeavor.
She began her professional life as an elementary school teacher, moving to special education teacher, and then to remedial reading consultant in the Beacon, New York elementary schools. She also founded, owned, and operated The Gingerbread House, a private preschool center, and owned three retail businesses before moving into the investment field.
The adaptability of the program enables it to be offered in a wide range of settings, including but not exclusive of New York City schools, such as Manhattan College, School of the Future, Beacon Schools, and area libraries.
Corinne created Imagine out of her long-time passion for working with children and her ahead-of-the curve vision of the changing financial landscape and the importance of children in the equation. As a single mother providing sole financial support for her two children, Corinne fostered sound financial underpinnings to insure peace of mind, stability, and quality of life for her family, ultimately transitioning to a career on Wall Street.
Corinne’s life mission has been to create supportive environments for self-empowerment in every aspect of life, regardless of age and circumstance. Giving back is included in the financial education program. Corinne has lived the concept.
A sound financial foundation offers freedom of choice in life, and a wider variety of options for personal fulfillment for all. The core concepts of intelligent information, self responsibility, choice, and wise action are built into a fun and exciting program designed to nurture children. Together we can change our world, one child at a time.
